Today Is The Last Day For Conference Sign Up

By Chris Armistead

Friday, September 3rd, 2010 at 10:30am

With the 2010 User Conference right around the bend, we are getting the word out that today is the absolute last day to sign up.  We have to get our final guest list over to the hotel today, so once we close registration, it really is closed for good!  If you've been on the fence about this event, take another look at the conference schedule before time runs out.  This is far and away our strongest set of presentations to date, with more than double the number of client speakers from last year.  You will not only get the same great opportunities to hear from and speak to our staff, but you can learn from and collaborate with Cascade users from across North America.

We are so excited about seeing our customers in less than two weeks, and we can't wait to put on our best conference yet.  Register now to get one of the final spots.  When the day is over, you'll have to wait until 2011 for another chance!

Hannon Hill Services Spotlight: NEU Law Media Gallery

By Kat Liendgens

Friday, August 13th, 2010 at 11:00am

As the Hannon Hill Services team continues to implement a wide variety of Cascade Server projects for our clients, we thought that it might be interesting to share some examples with you. We recently completed a small, very cool project for Northeastern University School of Law.

The first part was the implementation of a photo gallery. When a user wants to create a new photo gallery, they simply have to select New --> Media --> Photo Gallery, and a folder. The associated index page will be automatically created. Next, the user can upload images to go into the photo gallery folder by selecting New --> Media --> Image with Thumbnail and selecting the image to upload. There’s no need to manually create a thumbnail, as the system will produce one for you. As soon as the image is uploaded, it is integrated into the slideshow:

An index page automatically shows all of the existing photo galleries, which can be filtered by year and category. The user does not have to do anything to create the index listing.

The second part was the integration of a video gallery. When creating a new video asset, the user selects New --> Media --> Video Page and enters a few data fields, such as the category and the location of the video (YouTube, for instance) as well as a caption. The video is instantly displayed on the video index page, where a web user is able to filter by year and category:

As you can see, creating multimedia pages can be accomplished with just a few clicks in Northeastern University’s Law site. For more information or to get a quote for your own Cascade Server project, contact our Services team.

Stay tuned for more examples of projects implemented by the Hannon Hill Services team.

University of New Brunswick Case Study Posted

By Chris Armistead

Monday, August 2nd, 2010 at 2:15pm

If you have visited the Hannon Hill site recently, you may have noticed all the new case studies we have posted in recent months.  Something we hear from our customers again and again is how much they enjoy hearing what others are doing with Cascade Server.  As a result, we are making an effort to document as many of these stories as possible.  We are proud to announce our latest case study on the University of New Brunswick which focuses on their use of the WordPress connector to manage their blog content. They are doing some amazing things, and we hope you'll take a few minutes to read and find out more.

Once you check out New Brunswick's story, we'd like you to begin considering your own.  We know you have a great story to tell about your Cascade Server usage, and we'd love to help you share it with the world!  If you have interest in participating in a case study, please email info@hannonhill.com or you can write me directly.  Don't be shy!

It’s been a big week for us at Hannon Hill, and we are just now catching our breath.  In case you missed anything, we just wanted to give you a quick rundown of the happenings this week.

Our first big announcement was the release of the Cascade User Conference Schedule.  We know many of you have been waiting to see the schedule before registering for the conference, and we are confident this is the most valuable line-up we’ve ever presented.  Rooms are going fast so sign up now to secure your spot.

We also announced our upcoming webinar on Cascade Server 6.7 hosted by members of our engineering team.  This free webinar with be held next Tuesday, July 13th at 2PM EST and the sign-up response has already been overwhelming.  There are still spots left so sign up for the live webinar followed by a Q&A session with the team.

Another thing we don’t want to get lost in the fray is our latest case study with Pomona College in Claremont, California.  Pomona is one of the longest-standing of our 22 California customers, and we are so proud of what they have accomplished with Cascade Server.  Be sure and check out the case study if you haven’t already.

And speaking of California clients, we just welcomed California State University, Long Beach as our first customer of the new quarter.
